DETROIT (1/5/2016) -- Pack a lunch and join the Titans for a FREE Thursday morning game when the University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team hosts Horizon League foe UIC on Feb. 11 for the inaugural Field Trip Day. The game tips off at 11 a.m.

The Titans welcome all local area schools -- from elementary to high school -- to historic Calihan Hall, as well as employees looking to take a long lunch break, to help cheer on the Titans against the Flames.

Schools, classes, employees and fans may bring their own lunch or purchase a $5 lunch in advance, which will include a hot dog, chips and water. University employees are welcome to come cheer on the Titans for lunch with their supervisor's approval.

Each school and class will have assigned seating upon their arrival to Calihan Hall on game day. Students and classes are encouraged to bring their own packed lunch for the game.

The mascot for the Titans, Tommy, will also be on hand to take pictures with students and classes, before and during the contest.

The Detroit women's basketball team is in the first year under head coach Bernard Scott, a family man who has two daughters of his own.
