Women's Basketball Field Trip Day Set for Nov. 30

Time: 11 a.m. (Doors open at 10 a.m.)
Location: Calihan Hall (4001 McNichols Rd.) on the campus of the University of Detroit Mercy
Tickets: FREE for pre-registered schools and classes

DETROIT (10/3/2016) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team welcomes all area schools and grades for its second annual Field Trip Day, set for Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 11 a.m. against George Mason inside Calihan Hall. Doors will open at 10 a.m. 

Admission into the game is FREE. Interested schools and grades that would like to attend are being asked to RSVP by Nov. 23, one week prior to the game. The Athletic Department is also offering a boxed lunch for $5 which includes a hot dog, chips and water. Schools and grades may bring their own lunches, however.

The game is also Detroit Public Schools (DPS) certified. Free bus parking and accommodations will be provided in the parking lot outside of Calihan Hall. The Renaissance High School band will also be on hand to play during the game.

Detroit Mercy hosted its inaugural Field Trip Day on Feb. 11, 2015, hosting a women's basketball season-best 1,623 fans for the game.

Parking
Free bus parking and accommodations will be provided just north of Calihan Hall outside of the main entrance. Schools and classes are being asked to arrive between 10 a.m. and 10:45 a.m., for the 11 a.m. game time. The arrival time can be earlier by request.

Logistics
Each school and classes will be designated to a certain area in the stands at Calihan Hall. Upon arrival, an usher will take each school or class to its seats. All schools and classes must be accompanied by a chaperone. There will be no tickets handed out, but each school or class will a labeled section to sit in. Please RSVP with how many students you play on bringing to the game.

Lunch Options
Schools and classes may bring their own lunch, but they may also purchase $5 boxed lunches from the Athletic Department prior to the game. The boxed lunch includes a hot dog, chips and water. Concessions will also be available during the contest.
