DETROIT (12/19/2016) -- After helping the Titans take down the Hilltoppers of Western Kentucky, University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball sophomore
Josh McFolley was named the College Sports Madness Horizon League Player of the Week.
McFolley tallied a game-high 24 points – 16 in the second half – while also handing out a career-high eight assists in the Titans 85-79 victory.
He was 9-of-15 from the field with six 3-pointers, one shy of his career high, and also recorded three steals. In the Titans' crucial 24-9 second-half run, McFolley hit four treys and added another basket off his own steal to help the red, white and blue jump out in front.
With his eight assists leading to 19 Titan points combined with his own 24, McFolley accounted for a little over 50.0-percent of the Detroit Mercy offense in the win.
He is currently 11th in the Horizon League in scoring at 14.0 points per game. He is also tied for third in steals (1.5), fifth in three-point field goals per game (2.4), 12th in three-point field goal percentage (40.0%).
McFolley and the Titans will be back in action on Thursday, Dec. 22, as the Titans host Fort Wayne at 7 p.m.Â
