Corey Allen is starting to blossom into one of the top young scorers in the Horizon League and the conference recognized him as its HL Freshman of the Week on Monday.
Allen led the Titans in scoring in last week's pair of games tallying 18.0 points on 60.0-percent shooting, including 61.5-percent from three. He started the week off by recording a season-high 20 points against Eastern Michigan, going 7-of-11 from the field with four triples. He then knocked down another four 3-pointers en route to 16 points, while tying his season high with five rebounds and two assists at Murray State.Â
After averaging 8.2 points in his first five collegiate games, he has posted 15.3 in his last three, where he has been in double figures in all three contests.Â
He is currently second in the Horizon League in three-point field goal percentage (47.1%) as well as tied for 14th with 2.0 three-point field goals per game. His 10.9 points per game is tied for 25th in the HL, third highest among all league freshmen.Â
Allen and the Titans will be back in action on Wednesday, Dec. 7, when the red, white and blue visit Toledo for a 7 p.m., game.Â
