Last Time Out
The Titans and Minnesota combined for 202 points and Detroit Mercy set a new school record with 16 3-pointers in a 111-91 setback in Minneapolis on Saturday. Detroit Mercy's new record for treys was one better of the previous single-game record of 15, which the Titans had during the 2014-15 season at Toledo. The Titans also had a season-best 25 assists, the most in the
Bernard Scott era.
Freshman
Anja Marinkovic scored 29 points, the fifth-highest total in the Horizon League this season and the most for a first-year player. She knocked down 7-of-11 shots from beyond the 3-point arc and was 11-for-19 overall from the floor. Senior guard Rosanna Reynolds added 20 points and seven assists, while
Brianne Cohen had 14 points and
Nicole Urbanick was the fourth member of the squad in double figures with 12 points.
It was the second game this season that Detroit Mercy has scored 90 or more points. It was just the second career meeting between the two schools.
Marinkovic Named Freshman of the Week
Freshman guard Anja Marinkovic was named the Horizon League Freshman of the Week on Monday after turning in a 29-point performance at Minnesota on Saturday. She was 11-of-19 from the floor and 7-for-11 from beyond the arc. It was her first career weekly honor from the Horizon League. Her 29 points tied the best for a Detroit Mercy this season equaling Rosanna Reynolds' 29 points in the season opener at Delaware State.
Marinkovic's 29 points is the best point total for a Horizon League freshman this season and her seven 3-pointers are the most of any player in the league for a single-game this year.
