DETROIT (2/1/2016) -- It was a great come-from-behind win and an even better halftime performance as the University of Detroit Mercy honored 267 student-athletes and spirit squad members who earned a spot on the Detroit Athletic Director's Honor Roll on Sunday, Jan. 31.
The student-athletes who received the accolade achieved a 3.0 GPA or higher during either or both of the semester during the 2015 calendar year.
All the teams were honored at halftime of the men's basketball game against Wright State. All the teams were recognized, individually, with the exception of men's basketball as they were in the locker room planning their comeback strategy and men's and women's fencing, who were on the road at the Northwestern Mega Meet.
"I can't say enough about the dedication that our student-athletes show," said Director of Athletic Academics, SA Welfare & Eligibility
Amy Gasahl '11 (MBA). "Every season, this group keeps on getting bigger and bigger and this past year saw over 75 percent of our student-athletes post a 3.0 GPA."
