Titans Fall to UIC on Field Trip Day
More than 1,600 exuberant fans were on hand Thursday morning for the inaugural Field Trip Day at Calihan Hall, but the Titans fell 65-51 to visiting UIC. The attendance of 1,623 was the largest since Nov. 16, 2013, when 2,156 fans watched the Titans host Michigan at Calihan Hall.

Rosanna Reynolds led the Titans with 18 points and nine rebounds, while dishing out four assists. She scored 12 points in the first half, including hitting a jumper just inside the 3-point line just before the halftime buzzer. Brianne Cohen notched her 16th double figure scoring game of the year, tallying 15 points for the Titans.

The Titans shot 42 percent in the first half on 12-of-28 shooting, but went cold in the closing 20 minutes, hitting just 6-of-23 shots. For the game, Detroit finished at 36 percent shooting. It was just the third time in Horizon League play that Detroit has failed to shoot 40 percent or better for the game. Detroit made 4-of-15 triple attempts, making 1-of-9 in the second half. The Titans went 11-of-17 from the free throw line. UIC held the rebound advantage, 41-33.

Cohen Named Horizon League Player of the Week
Detroit sophomore Brianne Cohen was named Horizon League Player of the Week on Monday following her performance last week as the Titans went 2-0 on the road. Cohen averaged 21.0 points, 6.5 rebounds per game last week and shot 80 percent from the floor (16-of-20) in Detroit's two road victories. She tied her career-high twice, scoring 21 points in both wins at Cleveland State and Youngstown State. It's her first-career Horizon League weekly honor. It's the second weekly honor for the Titans this year after Rosanna Reynolds earned the award on Jan. 11.

In Detroit's 66-60 victory over the Vikings, Cohen sank her first eight shots of the game and finished with 21 points on 9-of-12 shooting. She pulled down eight rebounds, seven of them on the offensive side. Cohen followed it up with a 7-of-8 shooting performance at YSU, leading the squad with 21 points in Detroit's road win against the Penguins. It was her third 21-point game in the past five games and fourth game of 20 points in 2015-16.

All-Time Series
The Titans have won the past two meetings with the Crusaders and hold a 14-9 all-time series lead. Detroit is 7-5 at home against Valparaiso, but has dropped the past against the Crusaders at Calihan Hall. Detroit's last victory at home against Valparaiso came on Feb. 9, 2013. UDM is 6-4 in its past 10 games against Valparaiso.

Scouting Valparaiso
