DETROIT (2/17/2016) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team has found success on the road during the Horizon League season and will look to keep it going this weekend, visiting Northern Kentucky and Wright State on Thursday and Saturday, respectively.
The Titans visit NKU first, making their first appearance at BB&T Arena on Thursday evening in Highland Heights, Ky. Opening tip is set for 7 p.m. and may be seen on ESPN3.
Detroit is 5-1 in Horizon League road games this season. The Titans have surpassed their conference win total from last season and are currently in third place in the league standings at 8-5. Detroit has matched its win total from last year already with a 12-12 mark through 24 games.

Bernard Scott, defeated Northern Kentucky in their first-ever meeting earlier this year, winning a thrilling 66-65 contest at Calihan Hall in the final seconds of the game.

Team Effort Lifts Titans Past Valparaiso, 85-65Three Titans set or tied career-highs and five players scored in double figures as the University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team cruised to an 85-65 win over visiting Valparaiso on Saturday at Calihan Hall.
Brianne Cohen set a career-high with 23 points, while adding 11 rebounds and four blocks.
Lola Ristovski knocked down 5-of-6 triples and finished with a career-best 17 points and
Rosanna Reynolds notched her fourth double-double of the season with 10 points and a career-best 10 assists.Â
Brittney Jackson hit four 3-pointers for a career-high-tying 12 points.
Chea Taylor was the fifth member of the Titans in double figures with 10 points, while totaling seven rebounds and
Haleigh Ristovski had six points and eight boards for Detroit.
Detroit shot the ball well from downtown all afternoon and finished 11-for-25 from beyond the arc. The Titans sank 12-of-13 free throws for a season-high 92.3 percent success rate. The Titans improved to 12-2 when hitting 40 percent of shots or better as Detroit finished at 45.6 percent for the contest (31-of-68).
Quick Hits• The Titans are 12-2 when shooting 40 percent or better this season and 6-0 when reaching 80 points.
• Detroit has three players in the top 10 of the Horizon League in scoring in Reynolds (sixth, 15.9 ppg), Cohen (eighth, 14.2 ppg) and Urbanick (ninth, 14.1 ppg).

Rosanna Reynolds ranks second in the Horizon League and eighth in the NCAA in free throw percentage (88.4).

Nicole Urbanick is the fastest player in team history to reach 100 career 3-pointers. She did so in 46 games. She leads the HL in 3-pointers made this season with 68.
• In conference-only games, Detroit leads the league in field goal percentage (43.2), 3-point field goal percentage (35.6), ranks second in free throw percentage (74.5) and is third in scoring offense (70.7).
• Detroit is 9-2 when holding its opponent to 69 points or fewer. Detroit's losses came in league play against Green Bay and UIC.
• The Titans are 23rd in the country in 3-pointers made per game (7.9). Detroit has made 189 triples this year.
• UDM is first in the Horizon League in fewest turnovers per game at 13.7.
• Three Titans have reached 100 career 3-pointers this season after
Nicole Urbanick sank her 100th at Green Bay.
Rosanna Reynolds and
Haleigh Ristovski also hit the century mark this year. The trio are the 12th, 13th and 14th players in team history to hit that plateau.

Nicole Urbanick leads the league in 3-pointers made per game (2.8). She has led the league throughout the HL season. Urbanick is ninth in 3-point percentage (36.4). She ranks 20th in the NCAA in total 3-pointers made.
• Rosanna Reynold's nine assists vs. Oakland tied a career-high. She is third in the league with 4.8 assists per game and second in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.1). She has reached the 100-assist plateau for the third time in her career this season.
• Detroit already has surpassed its blocks output from last year. The Titans have swatted 93 shots this season, good for third in the Horizon League.
Haleigh Ristovski leads the squad with 27 blocked shots.
All-Time Series / Last Time OutThe Titans and Northern Kentucky have met just one time previously, earlier this season on Jan. 16, when Detroit earned a 66-65 victory over the Norse at Calihan Hall. Detroit trailed by nine points entering the final quarter of play, but went on a 9-0 run to open the quarter and tie the game 57-57 with 5:27 left in the contest.
Detroit went up 63-61 on a corner 3-pointer by
Lola Ristovski with 1:08 remaining.
Northern Kentucky tied the contest and then took the lead, 65-63, with 17 seconds left.
Nicole Urbanick followed by knocking down her fourth triple of the game off an assist by Reynolds to give Detroit the lead for good, 66-65, with 9.9 seconds remaining.
The Norse had two chances with under 5 seconds left, but
Lola Ristovski swatted away the first attempt and the second tip-in shot with 0.2 seconds left was ruled to be released after the final buzzer. Detroit held NKU to just 10 points in the final 10 minutes in the victory. Reynolds had a game-high 18 points, while Urbanick added 14 points, 13 of them in the second half.
Lola Ristovski had a career-best seven assists.
Scouting Northern KentuckyThe Norse have won four out of their last five games, dropping the most recent outing at home to Wright State. NKU has also found success on the road in Horizon League play, going 5-2 in seven contests this year away from BB&T Arena. Northern Kentucky completed a 4-0 road trip before falling to the Raiders at home, 76-65. NKU is 7-6 in home contests this season, but just 1-4 in HL home games.
Christine Roush has started all 23 games and leads NKU at 16.0 points per game, which is also the fourth-best average in the Horizon League. She has made 60 3-pointers this year and is making triples at a 40-percent clip. She also leads the Horizon League with a 91.0 free throw shooting percentage. Kasey Uetrecht ranks second on the squad at 11.4 points per game. Rebecca Lyttle leads the squad at 6.0 rebounds per game, while Rianna Gayheart paces the team in assists at 3.2 per contest.
Up NextDetroit continues its road trip on Saturday, facing Wright State in a 3 p.m. contest in Dayton, Ohio. The Titans close out the Horizon League regular season road schedule on Saturday, Feb. 27, visiting Metro Series rival Oakland for a 3 p.m. game in Rochester.
