Video: Ristovskis Share Bond of Basketball

DETROIT (2/9/2016) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team is currently in the hunt for a Horizon League title at 7-4 and the team wouldn't be at its current heights without the sister pair of Haleigh Ristovski and Lola Ristovski.

Haleigh, a junior, is in her third season as a Titan and currently leads the team in rebounding, blocks, minutes played and assist-to-turnover ratio. She just recently hit the game-winning shot in a 69-68 victory at Youngstown State, scoring with 1.6 seconds left on the clock. Earlier in the season, she became the 13th player in team history to make 100 career 3-pointers and has led the league nearly all season in assist-to-turnover ratio.

Lola, a freshman, has started the last 20 games for the Titans and is hitting 30.8 percent of her 3-point attempts, sinking 25 this season. She ranks fourth on the squad in assists and blocks, and third on the team in steals. Both Haleigh and Lola have played in all 22 games this year for the Titans.

It's the first season that the sisters have competed together at the Division I level. The duo also played high school basketball together at University Liggett High School in Grosse Pointe, playing one season together with older sister and University of Michigan senior Madison, as all three reached the Class C state championship game in 2012.

Earlier this season, Haleigh and Lola hosted Madison and the Wolverines at Calihan Hall as the trio played against each other for the first and only time at the collegiate level. Lola took home bragging honors that game, out-scoring her sisters with nine points, as Madison tallied seven and Haleigh finished with five points. Michigan won the game, 88-61.
