Several Titans Among NCAA Women's Basketball Leaders

DETROIT (4/7/2016) -- Several University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball student-athletes finished among the nation's leaders as the final NCAA statistics were released earlier this week. Four different Titans finished in the top 20 in the country in statistical categories, while as a team, Detroit also ranked among the nation's best in fewest turnovers and 3-pointers.

Individually, junior Haleigh Ristovski was second in the conference and ninth in the country in defensive rebounds per game (8.2). Sophomore Brianne Cohen was 12th in the nation in field goal percentage (57.3), which also ranked second in the Horizon League.

Junior Rosanna Reynolds ranked second in the league in free throw percentage (87.2), which was good for 14th in the NCAA. It was also the second-best mark in Detroit women's basketball single-season history. Sophomore Nicole Urbanick was first in the Horizon League and 19th in the country in 3-pointers made per game at 2.77.

As a team, Detroit was 17th in the country in fewest total turnovers (402), 32nd in fewest turnovers per game (13.4) and 45th in free throw percentage (73.8). The Titans were also among the nation's best in 3-point shooting, hitting 7.8 per game which was 23rd in the NCAA. Detroit's 234 makes from outside was 40th in the nation. Urbanick was 35th in the country with 83 makes from beyond the arc, the third-best total in school history.

Reynolds was second in the conference in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.07), which also ranked 47th in the country. Haleigh Ristovski was fourth in the Horizon League in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.86). Ristovski and Reynolds were 1-2 in the league in the category in 2014-15.

Reynolds was also 55th in assists per game (5.0), while Ristovski was 65th in rebounds per game (9.1) and 68th in minutes played per game (35.6).

The Titans went 15-15 and 11-7 in the Horizon League under first-year head coach Bernard Scott in 2015-16, completing their first winning season since the 2012-13 campaign. Detroit set school records for both 3-pointers made and free throw percentage during the season.
