DETROIT (5/10/2016) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team has announced that Paris Bass and Jalen Gibson will not return to the program next season.
 
Both are now free to seek other playing opportunities.
 
"At Detroit Mercy, we relentlessly strive to develop our athletes as 'students first,'" said head coach Bacari Alexander '99. "Within that framework of the student-athlete's welfare, our mission and vision, we are confident that this approach will assist us in building and sustaining our culture in the future. Both Paris and Jalen are fine young men who come from terrific hard working families and we wish them well in their future."
 
The University considers the matter closed and will have no further comment on the two student-athletes.
