DETROIT (6/27/2016) --
The high fives and cheers were plentiful Monday morning inside historic Calihan Hall as the University of Detroit Mercy Department of Athletics and the Titan Athletic Club hosted its sixth annual Basketball Camp for Special Needs Players.

More than 30 campers were on hand for a variety of basketball drills, games and fun. Along with volunteers and members of the Titan Athletic Club, both of the Detroit Mercy men's and women's basketball squads were back on campus to assist with the camp and partake in the fun with the campers.

The Titan Athletic Club is a booster organization for the University of Detroit Mercy Department of Athletics and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan sponsored the event.

Former Titan men's basketball standout Bernie Fuhs was back as the camp director for another year, while women's basketball head coach Bernard Scott and men's basketball assistant coach Jermaine Jackson '99 each spoke with the campers before and after the event.

The Titans would like to thank all of those who volunteered their time and to all those friends, family and campers who attended the camp.
