DETROIT (8/23/2016) -- What a great way to welcome in the class of 2020 as a number of University of Detroit Mercy student-athletes and teams helped move in the freshmen class. 

Just about every team was represented at today's event, taking their time out to welcome their new schoolmates and friends as well as family members. The student-athletes helped unload cars and trucks and get the items to their dorms. 

The Titan athletic department was on hand giving out shirts to the freshmen class, and head men's basketball coach Bacari Alexander '99 had the biggest surprise on the day getting an ice cream truck on campus for all to enjoy.

The 2020 class will now go through PTV the rest of the week. PTV is a four-day orientation session and gives all the students a chance to get to know their classmates as well as other members of the UDM community.
 
Full classes are scheduled to begin next Monday, Aug. 29.
