DETROIT (8/5/2016) -- The first men's basketball preseason game of the year will have a full Motor City flavor as the University of Detroit Mercy will play Wayne State in a game that will benefit Detroit Public Schools.
The contest is slated for 7:00 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 29, and tickets will be set at $2 per person, with all proceeds benefitting DPS.
"This is a great opportunity for two of Detroit's biggest academic and athletic institutions to help their community and their city," said Director of Athletics
Robert C. Vowels, Jr. "It is a great chance to see two teams prepare for the start of their season, while also helping raise funds for the Detroit Public Schools. We hope to see a great turnout by everyone in this city for this event as we usher in the 2016-17 season."
