Full 2016-17 Women's Basketball Schedule
DETROIT (9/8/2016) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team has finalized its schedule for the upcoming 2016-17 season with the Horizon League releasing the full schedule of conference games on Thursday.
The Titans, under second-year head coach
Bernard Scott, open the Horizon League schedule just before the New Year, hosting Valparaiso on Thursday, Dec. 29, and then welcoming UIC to town for a 1 p.m. matchup on New Years Eve on Saturday, Dec. 31. Both games are doubleheaders with the men's basketball team in action at Calihan Hall.
The next three games are on the road with the Titans visiting Metro Series-rival Oakland on Jan. 7 before making its first road trip out of the state  visiting Green Bay on Jan. 11 and Milwaukee on Jan. 13.
Detroit Mercy returns home for six of its next eight, beginning with a three-game homestand featuring Northern Kentucky (Jan. 16), Youngstown State (Jan. 20) and Cleveland State (Jan. 22). The first game against the Norse is the last Titan home doubleheader of the season on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Following a trip south for road contests at Wright State (Jan. 27) and Northern Kentucky (Jan. 29), the Titans have three more at home. Detroit Mercy opens the homestand with Milwaukee on Feb. 2 before hosting defending league champion Green Bay on Feb. 4. The Titans will then entertain Metro Series rival Oakland on Feb. 11 in a Metro Series matchup.
