Last Time Out
Detroit Mercy earned a thrilling 55-53 road victory at Northern Kentucky on Sunday afternoon. After leading most of the game, NKU took the lead early in the fourth quarter. The Titans fought back to re-gain the advantage, but an NKU free throw with 43 seconds left tied the game, 53-53. Both teams missed on offensive possessions, but Detroit Mercy had the ball with under 10 seconds left and Reynolds drove to the hoop and pivoted past her defender to score on a lay-up with 1.0 left on the clock. NKU had a look at the last second, but couldn't find the rim on the final shot.
Cohen, who scored 17 of Detroit Mercy's 26 first-half points, made 12-of-13 shots for a season-high 26 points. It was the fifth 20-point game of the season for the junior forward. Her only field goal miss was on a 3-pointer early in the second half. Reynolds added 15 points, while
Haleigh Ristovski had 10 rebounds, a career-high-tying eight assists, two blocks and two steals. It was the third win in four for coach Scott against NKU.
