DETROIT (10/6/2017) -- The Horizon League held its annual media day in downtown Detroit as both University of Detroit Mercy head men's basketball coach
Bacari Alexander '99 and women's head coach
Bernard Scott were part of the main festivities at Little Caesars Arena.
The day started with a tour of the completed building – which just opened last month – that will be the site of the District Detroit College Basketball Showcase in December, the Horizon League men's and women's basketball championships and the 2018 NCAA men's basketball first and second rounds in March.

Horizon League commissioner Jon LeCrone and Tom Wilson, President & CEO, Olympia Entertainment, then held a press conference to talk about the Horizon League's relationship with Olympia and the excitement for college basketball in the new venue.
All the basketball coaches then had a chance to meet members of the media as well as go through communication stations for PSA's and one-on-one interviews.

Earlier in the day, the HL; preseason polls and awards were released as the men were picked to finish fourth and the women fifth. Senior
Jaleel Hogan and sophomore
Corey Allen were tabbed Second Team All-League, while senior
Brianne Cohen was selected First Team All-HL.Â
Both the Titan men's and women's basketball teams started practice last week as they are preparing for the 2017-season.
