DETROIT (11/1/2017) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball squad doesn't officially open the 2017-18 season for another week, but the Titans will host Lawrence Tech in an exhibition game Friday night from Calihan Hall. Opening tip is set for 7 p.m.
Admission to the contest is free and live stats will be provided for the game with the Blue Devils.
The Titans are heading into their 41st season overall and third year under head coach
Bernard Scott. Last year, Detroit Mercy went 18-14 overall and 12-6 in the Horizon League, reaching the title game of the 2017 Horizon League Championship.
Detroit Mercy has played Lawrence Tech two times previously -- once during the regular season in 2013-14 and most recently in an exhibition during coach Scott's first season as coach in 2015-16. The Titans earned a 72-38 victory over the Blue Devils in 2015, with
Nicole Urbanick leading all scorers with 25 points.
