DETROIT (11/24/2017) -- Off a big road victory at Saint Louis, where the Titans made some clutch shots on offense and played strong defense, the University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team returns home for a quick game to battle the Siena Heights Saints on Saturday.
Game time is set for 2 p.m., and will be broadcast live on ESPN3 as well as over the radio on 910 AM Superstation.
It will be "Small Business Saturday" as the game will be

Kameron Chatman hit a jumper with one second left in the Titans 72-70 triumph.
The contest marks just the second time this season that the Titans will play at home as six of their first eight games are on the road. After that, Detroit Mercy will play nine of its next 11 in the Motor City with 10 at historic Calihan Hall and one at the brand new Little Caesars Arena.
ALL-TIME MATCH-UP
- The Titans and Saints have met just once during the regular season and that was back on Feb. 14, 2000, when Detroit Mercy claimed an 80-71 victory.
ABOUT THE SAINTS
- Siena Heights is 2-3 on the season and will play Mid-Atlantic Christian on Friday in a non-conference game before facing the Titans in what will be an exhibition for the Saints.
- Their wins have been over Trinity Christian (Ill.), 74-65, in their opener, and 80-69 in overtime at Concordia.
- Tony Jackson II leads the team in scoring at 12.8 points per game and rebounding at 7.0 per contest, while Nick Randle is averaging 11.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists.
CALIHAN HALL TURNS 65
- The 2017-18 season marks the 65th anniversary of historic Calihan Hall, the home of the men's and women's basketball teams.
- The dedication of the University's Memorial Building, as it was known back then, took place May 25, 1952. The first basketball game was played Dec. 2 of that year when the U-D men beat Kalamazoo, 75-61.
- In 1977, the name was changed to Calihan Hall in honor of the Titans' first basketball All-American, the late Bob Calihan.
HOME GROWN TITANS
- Detroit Mercy's roster features 17 players with 12 hailing from the state of Michigan, including four from the city of Detroit.
REACHING 100
- The Titans reached the 100-point mark in a 116-109 victory over Houston Baptist in overtime, the second 100-point game of the season as they scored 105 over UM-Dearborn.
- The 116 points are tied for the 13th most in school history and the most since the Titans beat UM-Dearborn 122-70 in 2015.
- The game also broke Belmont's Curb Event Center record - the site that was hosting the 2K Sports Classic subregional - for most combined points as the 225 points eclipsed the 198 Belmont and Tennessee State tallied in 2016.
- The last time the Titans won a game when both teams scored 100 was in 1989 when they defeated Loyola, 115-101.
- Detroit Mercy has now reached 100 points 93 times in its history.

- The Titans currently rank second in the Horizon League and 37th in the nation in scoring offense at 88.6 points per game.
- Last season, the Titans hit 80 points 12 times and 90 on five occasions, tying for third in the HL in offense at 77.0 ppg., - 85th in the nation.

- Detroit Mercy set a school record hoisting up 43 three-point attempts against Houston Baptist, nailing 12 of them.
- The previous record was 36 against Dayton in 1991.

- The Titans have taken at least 70 field goals in three of their five games, including going 40-of-83 against Houston Baptist and 40-of-75 versus UM-Dearborn.
TAKING ADVANTAGE
- Detroit Mercy has done a great job at the free throw line this season connecting on 88-of-110 for 80.0 percent, second in the HL and 14th in the country.
- The Titans started the year 18-of-22 at Virginia Tech and were 20-of-23 versus Seattle, 24-of-30 against Houston Baptist and 13-of-15 in the road win at Saint Louis.
- Some of the top free throw shooters to start the year include Corey Allen (18-of-20), Jermaine Jackson Jr. (19-of-20), Roschon Price (11-of-13) and Josh McFolley (11-of-12).

- The Titans have made life tough for non-conference opponents visiting Calihan Hall as Detroit Mercy is 85-22 in its last 107 home games against non-league schools.
- Last year, Detroit Mercy was 2-3 with wins over Adrian and Western Kentucky, while in 2015-16, the Titans were 6-0 with wins over Central State, UM-Dearborn, Northeastern, Toledo, Bowling Green and UCF.

- Detroit Mercy has taken care of business against non-Division I schools as the Titans have won 32 in a row against them during the regular season.
- The last loss was against Wayne State in 1993.
- In its history, Detroit Mercy is 257-67 (.791) all-time against non-division one schools.

- The Titans are 285-157 (.645) all-time against other schools from the state of Michigan, including 265-85 versus programs outside of the two Big Ten institutions.

- Senior Jaleel Hogan has 986 career points and is now just 14 away from becoming the 41st member of the Titan 1,000-point club.
I SEE YOU CA
- Sophomore Corey Allen had a slow start to the season on offense, but he broke out in a big way at the 2K Sports Classic subregional at Belmont last week.
- Against Seattle, he tallied 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting with a pair of 3-pointers.
- In the consolation game against Houston Baptist, he hit his first three triples and ended the game with a career-high and Curb Event Center record 39 points, surpassing the 33 he had at home against Fort Wayne last season.
- Allen - who was named to the All-Tournament Team - was a career-best 12-of-20 from the field and 7-of-13 from long range to go with five rebounds and career-tying five assists.
- The 39 points are the most by a Titan since teammate Jaleel Hogan had 39 in a road win at Oakland last year.
- On the season, he leads the team in scoring at 18.0 points per game shooting 46.0 percent from the field, 50.0 percent from three and 90.0 percent at the free throw line.
MCFOLLEY LEADS THE WAY
- Junior Josh McFolley came into the Saint Louis game averaging just 8.0 points, but he broke out with a14 in the first half and finished with a season-high 22 in the road victory.
- It was the eighth 20-point game in McFolley's career and after nailing three 3-pointers in the contest, he now has 121 as a Titan, just 17 away from 10th in school history.
JACKSON JR. EARNS HL HONOR
- After connecting on two 3-pointers in the closing seconds to propel the Titans over Houston Baptist and averaging double figures on the week, rookie Jermaine Jackson Jr. was named the Horizon League Freshman of the Week this past Monday.
- Jackson Jr. tallied 13.0 points, 5.0 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 1.3 steals in three games. He had 13 points and five assists in the win over UM-Dearborn and then started the weekend with 12 points, two assists and two steals in the match-up with Seattle in the 2K Sports Classic subregional at Belmont.
- He had a big performance against HBU finishing with 14 points, five rebounds and a team and season-high eight assists. He nailed a pair of 3-pointers in the last 10 seconds of regulation to send the game into overtime, including the game-tying, step-back triple with just one second left on the clock.
KAM'S THE MAN
- The Titans needed everyone's help to get the overtime victory over Houston Baptist and junior Kameron Chatman did his part posting his first career double-double with 22 points and a career-high 16 rebounds.
- His previous high in rebounds was nine as a freshman at Michigan against Syracuse, while it was the most boards by a Titan since Chris Jenkins had 16 against Fort Wayne last year.
- In the last game at Saint Louis, he posted 18 points, nine rebounds, two assists and two steals, but his biggest play was the game-winning shot with just one second left on the clock.
- He is currently averaging 16.8 points and a team-high 8.6 rebounds, while shooting 54.0 percent from the field.
JJJ FILLING UP THE STAT SHEET
- Rookie Jermaine Jackson Jr., posted stats all around as a true freshman on the road at Virginia Tech tallying 16 points with seven rebounds and three assists.
- The seven rebounds tied for the team lead, while his six defensive rebounds topped the team.
- He has now scored in double digits in four of the five games on the season and is third on the team averaging 12.2 points to go with a team-best 3.6 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.4 steals.
THE PRINCE OF DETROIT MERCY
- Graduate senior Roschon Prince has had a nice start to his Titan career scoring in double figures twice with 11 points against UM-Dearborn and Houston Baptist.
- He has grabbed at least five boards in three of the four games with a season-high six against Seattle and is 13-of-23 from the field (56.5%) and 11-of-13 (84.6%) at the charity stripe.
A HELPING HAND
- Freshman Jermaine Jackson Jr. finished with a season-high eight assists against Houston Baptist, the most assists by a Titan rookie since Ray McCallum had 10 against UIC in 2011.
WELCOME TO THE SHOW ISAIAH
- Senior Isaiah Jones finally made his collegiate debut after dealing with injuries the last two years.
- He has played in four of five games this season and in three minutes of action at the season opener at Virginia Tech, he grabbed two rebounds and had a block. Against Houston Baptist his last time out, he scored his first collegiate points on a layup.
- Jones injured his knee after his sophomore year at junior college and then missed the following season rehabbing. Last year, he reinjured his knee prior to the start of the season and missed the entire year.
BLACKSHEAR JR. ON THE BOARDS
- Junior Gerald Blackshear Jr., was one of the best rebounders in the league when he was on the court last season tallying 4.0 rebounds in just 17.2 minutes of court time.
- Blackshear Jr. pulled down five or more rebounds in 12 games, including a career-high 11 boards at Cleveland State. He also averaged 6.0 points, shooting 61.3 percent from the field in limited touches.
- Against UM-Dearborn, Blackshear Jr., had eight points and seven rebounds in 15 minutes of action. He ended with four points, three rebounds and a career-high three blocks against Seattle before tallying six points and six rebounds versus Houston Baptist.
