DETROIT (11/8/2017) -- The University of Detroit Mercy Department of Athletics is set to honor its first women's basketball coach Sue (Kruszewski) Hardy and the first Titan women's basketball teams of the late 70's in a special 40-year reunion prior to the game against Michigan on Dec. 4.
The Titans will host Michigan at 7 p.m., with the reunion taking place beforehand from 4-6 p.m. at the Ed & Brooks Room inside Calihan Hall.
At halftime,
ALL women's basketball players in attendance will be recognized during a ceremony and all former Titan women's basketball players are invited for a social to meet coach Hardy and her former teams at 6 p.m. in the Ed & Brooks Room.
Sue (Kruszewski) Hardy, who was inducted into the Titan Hall of Fame last year, was an integral part of the start of women's athletics at the University, starting the women's basketball program from scratch and also helping start the softball team, while coaching cheerleading as well. She went 70-15 in her three years as head coach, leading the Titans to national prominence during her tenure.

The Titans are entering their 41st season of women's basketball overall and third season under head coach
Bernard Scott. Detroit Mercy reached the championship game of the Horizon League Women's Basketball Championship last year and are looking to build upon two-straight winning campaigns.
