Men’s Basketball Heads To Milwaukee On Saturday

DETROIT (12/29/2017) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team will look to get out of Wisconsin with a split as the Titans battle the Panthers of Milwaukee on Saturday night.

Game time is set for 7 p.m. (EST), and will be broadcast live on ESPN3 as well as on 910 AM Superstation with Cliff Russell calling the action.

The Titans nearly came away with a win in their Horizon League opener at Green Bay on Thursday, but the Phoenix used a second-half run to take control of the game.

Detroit Mercy did have a pair of players score 20 points as freshman Jermaine Jackson Jr. led the way with a game and season-high 25 points, while redshirt junior Kameron Chatman tallied his fifth double-double of the season with 22 points and 11 rebounds.

After the game, the Titans will return home for four-straight conference games starting with a contest against Wright State on Jan. 5, a game that is set to tip at 9 p.m. and will be televised live on ESPNU.

Tickets can be purchased online, over the phone (313-993-1700 ext. 7301) or in person at Calihan Hall. For more information on tickets, contact Director of Ticket Operations & Sales Justin Hairston at 313-993-1700 ext. 7301 or at hairstjj1@udmercy.edu.

  • The main reason is senior Isaiah Jones, who swatted away three shots for the third-straight game and the fourth time this year.

JJJ FILLING UP THE STAT SHEET
  • Rookie Jermaine Jackson Jr. posted stats all around as a true freshman on the road at Virginia Tech tallying 16 points with seven rebounds and three assists.

  • In fact, Jackson Jr. is second in the HL and ninth in the nation at the charity stripe. He recently saw a streak of 17 made in a row before missing one against ETSU.

KAM'S THE MAN
  • The Titans needed everyone's help to get the overtime victory over Houston Baptist on Nov. 19 and redshirt junior Kameron Chatman did his part posting his first career double-double with 22 points and a career-high 16 rebounds.
  • His previous high in rebounds was nine as a freshman at Michigan against Syracuse, while it was the most boards by a Titan since Chris Jenkins had 16 against Fort Wayne last year.
  • At Saint Louis on Nov. 22, he posted 18 points, nine rebounds, two assists and two steals, but his biggest play was the game-winning shot with just one second remaining.
