INDIANAPOLIS (2/28/2017) -- Three University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball players were honored in the Horizon League postseason awards with the league office releasing the All-Conference Teams and postseason honors on Tuesday afternoon. The junior forward ranked seventh in the league in scoring (15.4 ppg) and led the Horizon League in field goal percentage (60.5%) just about all season. Cohen also led the team and finished sixth in the Horizon League with 27 blocks. She finished the regular-season with 12-straight double-digit scoring efforts and shot 65.0 percent in 18 league games. She became the 21st player in school history to surpass the 1,000-point plateau in the regular-season finale.
Marinkovic was named to the Horizon League All-Freshmen Team after a standout rookie campaign where she ranked second in the league among freshmen at 7.5 points per game. The Toronto, Ontario, native ranked second on the squad with 42, 3-pointers, which also ranks fourth in single-season freshmen history. Marinkovic led the team with a 90.7 free-throw percentage and has played in all 29 contests during the regular season for the Titans.
