DETROIT (2/3/2017) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team looks to continue its success at home on Saturday, hosting nationally-ranked Green Bay from Calihan Hall for a 1 p.m. tip. It's National Girls & Women in Sports Day at Calihan Hall and admission for all fans is
FREE.
It's the second meeting of the season between two of the top three teams currently in the Horizon League. Detroit Mercy (8-3 HL) is 6-0 in Horizon League home contests for the first time since 2009-10 and No. 21/24-ranked Green Bay enters the game with a 10-1 mark in league play.
The game is set to be streamed live on ESPN3.com and may also be seen locally on WADL with
Denny Kapp calling all of the action.

Rosanna Reynolds became the career leader in assists vs. Milwaukee, totaling eight assists to surpass Jalesa Jones for No. 1 on the all-time list with 516 assists.
• Detroit Mercy is 6-0 in Horizon League home contests this season. Overall, the Titans are 7-2 at Calihan Hall. The 6-0 home mark is the best home league start since the 2009-10 squad won its first seven HL home games.
• The Titans have shot 40 percent or better in eight of 11 Horizon League games and rank second in Horizon League contests with a 44.8 FG percentage.
• The Titans are 19-10 in Horizon League play in the past two seasons under head coach
Bernard Scott.

Brianne Cohen ranks first in the HL and 19th in the NCAA with 58.9 FG percentage. In last eight games, Cohen is shooting 70.3 percent from the field (57-of-81). Cohen shot 9-of-10 at Green Bay, 9-of-11 vs. Cleveland State & 12-of-13 at NKU.
• Reynolds is the first player in school history with 1,500 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists. She became the fifth Titan in school history to surpass the 1,500-point plateau, while becoming just the second Titan player to reach 500 career assists earlier this year.
• In Horizon League play, the Titans lead the league in assists (18.0 apg), def. rebounding (28.5), 3-point FG defense (26.5%) and blocked shots (4.2 bpg).
• The Titans are among the NCAA leaders in defensive rebounding (13th, 29.5 per game), 3-point field goals per game (23rd, 8.2), assists per game (40th, 16.1), assist-to-turnover ratio (44th, 1.13) and scoring offense (62nd, 71.9 ppg).
• Reynolds has the top two assist totals this season in the Horizon League, tallying 11 vs. UIC and 12 at Milwaukee. Reynolds ranks second in the conference in total assists (122) and assists per game (5.5).

Brianne Cohen (1st, 58.9) and
Kelsey Mitchell (2nd, 55.9) are the top duo in the Horizon League in field goal percentage. The pair are 1-2 in HL-only games with both shooting over 60 percent.
• Senior
Haleigh Ristovski became seventh player with 750 rebounds after grabbing 10 at NKU. She is three rebounds shy of sixth place on the all-time list with 765 career boards. Ristovski also tied a career-high with eight assists at Northern Kentucky.
• Reynolds, who ranks 31st in the nation in assists per game (5.5), reached 100 assists in the season for the fourth time in her career this season. Her career-best is 149 and she has 122 this season. Reynolds is 25th in the NCAA in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.49).
• Reynolds is the top active scorer in the Horizon League with her 1,596 points, which is also 33rd in the NCAA among active players. She is also the active HL leader in assists with 516, which is 15th in the country among active players in Division I.
• Detroit Mercy has assisted on nearly 70-percent (67.5) of its field goals in Horizon League play (198 assists on 293 field goals). The Titans have six games of 19 or more assists in HL contests.
• Junior
Nicole Urbanick is quickly moving up the all-time 3-pointers made list and ranks sixth with 175. She is second in the HL in 3-pointers made per game (2.5), sinking 52 in 21 games and has 11 games of three or more made triples.
• Reynolds is second in the HL in 3-point FG percentage (41.3) and first in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.49).
• Detroit Mercy has three of the top 12 in assists per game in HL play -- Reynolds (2nd, 5.8),
Gracie Roberts (T-11, 3.4 apg) and
Haleigh Ristovski (T-11, 3.4 apg).
Last Time Out
The Titans improved to 8-3 in the Horizon League and 6-0 in home games in league play with a 77-63 win over Milwaukee on Thursday from Calihan Hall. Detroit Mercy opened a double-digit advantage in the first quarter and never looked back, leading the rest of the contest, most of it by double figures. The Titans shot 51.7 percent from the floor and 10-of-20 from downtown in the victory. It was the second-highest shooting percentage of the season.
Senior
Rosanna Reynolds broke the career assists record with eight helpers on the night, surpassing Jalesa Jones for the all-time mark with 516. She broke the record on a dish to
Anja Marinkovic, who drained a jumper from the wing with 5:18 left in the third quarter.
Reynolds had a game-high 21 points, eight assists, six rebounds and three steals.
Brianne Cohen (16 points),
Anja Marinkovic (16 points, 4-of-5 3-PT) and
Kelsey Mitchell (10 points) all were in double figures for the Titans.
Haleigh Ristovski added seven rebounds and two blocks for Detroit Mercy.
All-Time Series
Detroit Mercy is 7-46 all-time against the Phoenix, last defeating Green Bay on Feb. 9, 2012 in a 70-58 victory in Wisconson. It's also the last victory over a ranked squad for the Titans with the Phoenix at No. 9 in the AP rankings at the time.
The Titans' last win at home over Green Bay came during the 2009-10 season, when Detroit Mercy earned a 71-55 triumph. The red, white and blue are 5-17 all-time in games played against Green Bay at Calihan Hall. Two of Detroit Mercy's five wins against a ranked opponents have been against the Phoenix.
Junior forward
Brianne Cohen had a great-shooting effort against Green Bay in the first meeting between the two teams this season, sinking 9-of-10 shots for 20 points. Junior guard
Nicole Urbanick added 12 points, sinking 3-of-5, 3-point attempts. Senior
Haleigh Ristovski added nine rebounds and three steals. The Titans out-scored the Phoenix in the second half of that contest by a 37-28 margin, including 21-14 in the final stanza.
Scouting Green Bay
The Phoenix dropped their first Horizon League game of the season on Thursday, falling 74-71 at Oakland. Green Bay is ranked No. 21 in the most recent Associated Press poll and No. 24 in the USA Today Coaches Poll. The Phoenix have been ranked at No. 1 in the mid-major poll since the beginning of the season.
Senior Mehryn Kraker just recently became the all-time leader in 3-pointers made for Green Bay with 197, doing so against rival Milwaukee. Kraker leads the squad with an 18.4 points per game average, which ranks first in the Horizon League. She is fourth in the league in field goal percentage (54.3). Jessica Lindstrom is second in the league in rebounding (10.3 rpg), while Jen Wellnitz is second in the conference in steals (2.7 per game) and assist-to-turnover ratio (2.4).
As a team, Green Bay leads the league in field goal percentage (46.5) and field goal defense (33.2%).

Detroit Mercy continues its home-stand next weekend, hosting Metro Series rival Oakland on Saturday, Feb. 11 for a 1 p.m. contest. It'll be the annual Pink Game for the Titans with the team wearing its pink uniforms and proceeds from the game going towards Gilda's Club of Royal Oak.
