Men’s Tennis Falls at Kennesaw State

KENNESAW, Ga. (3/8/17) – The University of Detroit Mercy men's tennis team suffered a 4-0 loss at Kennesaw State on Wednesday night from Betty Siegel Courts.
 
Kennesaw State jumped ahead with an early point after taking two of the doubles matches. The duo of Nathan Ponton and Artem Vasheshnikov were leading 5-4 from the top line, but went unfinished as the point was already taken.
 
The Owls earned the win after taking three singles decisions at Nos. 3, 5 and 6.
 
Detroit Mercy was leading at the first and second positions of singles when the match was clinched. Sophomore Artem Vasheshnikov picked up a tough 7-6 win in the first set of No. 1, while senior Patryk Koscielski took the first set of No. 2, 6-3.
 
The Titans fall to 5-8 with the loss, while Kennesaw State evens its record at 5-5.
 
Detroit Mercy will have a chance to bounce back with a win with a match against Chattanooga on Thursday afternoon from Tennessee.
