DETROIT (4/18/2017) -- The University of Detroit Mercy has been named a tournament host for 2021 NCAA men's basketball first and second round tournament games as well as selected as the host institution for the 2020 NCAA Women's Bowling Championship and the 2020 NCAA Men's & Women's Fencing Championships.
The NCAA
released a full slate of host schools through 2022 for various championships in an announcement on Tuesday afternoon. More than 600 schools across 43 states were selected as tournament sites for NCAA Championships across Divisions I, II and III.Â
Detroit Mercy, in partnership with Olympia Entertainment and the Detroit Sports Commission, are set to host 2018 NCAA men's basketball first and second round games on March 16 & March 18, 2018 from the brand-new Little Caesars Arena next March.
The Titans will again host 2021 NCAA men's basketball first and second round tournament games three years later on March 18 & 20, 2021 from LCA.

Detroit Mercy and the Detroit Sports Commission were also picked as hosts for the 2020 NCAA Women's Bowling Championship and the 2020 NCAA Men's & Women's Fencing Championships. The women's bowling championship is set for April 9-11, 2020 from Thunderbowl Lanes in nearby Allen Park, while the men's and women's fencing championships are slated for March 19-22 from the Cobo Center, in downtown Detroit.
Detroit Mercy last hosted NCAA men's basketball tournament games in 2009. It'll be the fourth time in the past 12 years in which the Titans have served as the host institution for the NCAA Women's Bowling Championship, as Detroit Mercy served as a host in 2009, 2011 and 2013.
It's the first time that the Titans have served as the host school for the NCAA Men's and Women's Fencing Championships.
