Women's Basketball Among NCAA Statistical Leaders in 2016-17

DETROIT (5/11/2017) -- Senior guard/forward Haleigh Ristovski (Sterling Heights, Mich. / University Liggett) and junior forward Brianne Cohen (Toronto, Ont. / York Memorial) both ranked in the top 15 in the country in the final NCAA Division I statistical report, which was released in April. The University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team also finished in the top 80 in the nation in 15 different statistical categories.
 
Haleigh Ristovski, who just completed her final season for the Titans, ranked in the top 30 in the nation in two categories, including leading the Horizon League and ranking sixth in the nation in defensive rebounding (7.59 boards per game). Ristovski also was 28th in the NCAA in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.45). She had 243 total defensive rebounds and tallied 98 assists against just 40 turnovers in 32 games.
 
Cohen led the Horizon League all season in field-goal percentage and finished No. 12 in the NCAA at 60.1 percent. She was one of 12 players across the country in Division I to finish the season with a percentage of 60 percent or better. Cohen's 188 field goals made ranked 114th nationally.
 
Redshirt senior guard Rosanna Reynolds (Canton, Mich. / Divine Child) was among the NCAA leaders in several different categories including assist-to-turnover ratio (2.26, 41st), assists per game (4.9, 51st) and total assists (158, 52nd). She was second in the Horizon League in both assists and assists per game and third in assist-to-turnover ratio. Reynolds was just outside the top 100 in points per game, ranking 117th with a 16.2 points per game average in her senior year.
 
Junior guard Nicole Urbanick (Grosse Ile, Mich. / Divine Child) ranked in the top 100 in three different 3-point shooting categories. Urbanick ranked 71st in the nation with a career-best 37.7 percent shooting clip from behind the arc. Urbanick ranked second in the conference, sinking 2.32 triples per game, which was also 86th in the country. Her 72 total 3-pointers was 95th in the NCAA. Entering her senior season, Urbanick has 195 career 3-pointers.
 
As a team, Detroit Mercy was No. 9 in the NCAA in defensive rebounding at 29.4 defensive caroms per game, leading the conference. The Titans set a school record with their 29.4 defensive rebounding clip and 943 total defensive boards.
 
The Titans also ranked in the top 30 in the NCAA in three different 3-point shooting statistical categories. Detroit Mercy set a school record and ranked No. 23 in the country with 259 triples during the 2016-17 season. The Titans were 25th in the country at 8.1 treys per contest and 28th in the nation with 761 total 3-point attempts. Detroit Mercy was also No. 72 in the country in 3-point field goal percentage (34.0).
