INDIANAPOLIS (6/30/2017) -- The outstanding year of Titan success in the classroom continued as 77 University of Detroit Mercy student-athletes were named to the Horizon League Spring Academic Honor Roll.
Men's soccer led their respective sport category with 12 selections, while women's golf's seven selections tied for first. Women's soccer with 16 and men's golf with five were third among their respective peers.Â
A total of 983 student-athletes achieved academic honor roll distinctions for the spring of 2017 semester with all 10 members and 19 Horizon League-sponsored sports represented.
Candidates for the Honor Roll must meet three criteria in order to qualify:
1) participation in at least one of the League's 19 sports.
2) completion of three semesters (or four quarters, where applicable) as a full-time student at the same member institution.
3) a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale).
Sports with the most representation were women's track and field/cross country with 132 student-athletes while women's soccer had 128 members. Men's track and field/cross country was the third highest group with 97 honorees.
