DETROIT (1/25/2018) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball closes out the first half of league play on Saturday, visiting nearby rival Oakland for a 3 p.m. game in Rochester. The game is set to be televised on TV-20 locally and may also be seen on ESPN3.com and the WatchESPN Applications.
Titan fans, a special pregame tailgate is set for 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Buddy's Pizza, 2612 N. Squirrel Road, in Auburn Hills. Fans will receive 15-percent off their food order between those times prior to the game.

Brianne Cohen and
Nicole Urbanick continue to hit career milestones, with Cohen becoming the 12th player in school history to surpass 1,300 points and Urbanick moving into second all-time in career 3-pointers made (220). Cohen is nearing the top 10 in career scoring and is nine points back of ninth place all-time.
Urbanick is nearing the all-time 3-point mark and is 11 shy of the career record, set by former Titan standout Senee Shearer of 231. Urbanick has sank 14 triples in her past seven games. She has sank multiple 3-pointers in eight of her past 11 contests.
Detroit Mercy was nearly perfect from the free throw line in its last game against Milwaukee, sinking 21-of-22 free throws for a 95.5 shooting clip. The free throw shooting performance was the second-best in school history (15 attempts min.). Five players are shooting better than 77 percent from the foul line in 2017-18.

The Titans were nearly perfect from the free throw line Saturday afternoon, but Detroit Mercy dropped a 70-61 to visiting Milwaukee at Calihan Hall.
The Titans shot 21-of-22 from the free throw line (95.5 percent) to nearly set a single-game school record. Seniors
Brianne Cohen and
Nicole Urbanick led the way with 16 and 14 points, respectively. Junior guard
Brittney Jackson was the third Titan in double figures with 10 points.
With her 16 points, Cohen moved into a tie-for-11th place in school history with 1,320 career points. Urbanick also moved close to the all-time record for 3-pointers, sinking two in the game to move 11 away (220) from the all-time mark (231, held by Senee Shearer).
Detroit Mercy shot 17-of-52 in the game (32.7 percent) and connected on 6-of-24 from beyond the arc. The Titans' 21-of-22 shooting performance from the free throw line was among the best in school history, just shy of the 22-of-23 school-record performance. The Titans turned the ball over just 13 times in the game, which tied a season-low.
Scouting Oakland
The Golden Grizzlies have lost three-straight games heading into Saturday's Metro Series contest at Oakland. The Golden Grizzlies have a 10-9 overall record and 3-5 mark in Horizon League play. OU holds a 4-4 mark in home games this season and are in the middle of a five-game stretch at home.
Sha'Keya Graves leads Oakland in scoring at 12.9 points per game, but four others average above nine points per game with Taylor Gleason (11.6 ppg), Taylor Jones (11.6 ppg), Cierra Bond (9.9 ppg) and Leah Somerfield (9.7 ppg) all above the mark. Somerfield leads the squad in rebounding at 7.4 boards per game, sixth-best in the Horizon League. Gleason is third in the league at 4.6 assists per game.
OU has three players that have made 30 or more 3-pointers and ranks second in the conference in 3-pointers made per game (7.3). The Golden Grizzlies rank first in blocks (4.1) and steals (10.4) per game in the league. Oakland also shoots a league-high 33.2 percent from beyond the 3-point arc.
