DETROIT (1/29/2018) -- An annual tradition for the Titans, the University of Detroit Mercy Department of Athletics is set to host National Girls & Women in Sports Day on Saturday, Feb. 3 at Calihan Hall. The event is set prior to the women's basketball game against Youngstown State at 1 p.m.
The event is
FREE for all interested participants.
Registration and check-in for the event begins at 9 a.m. Saturday. The clinic starts at 10 a.m. and campers will receive a free ticket to that day's 1 p.m. contest against the Penguins from Calihan Hall. The camp is designed for girls from ages 6-12, but all are welcome.
Campers have a chance to participate in fun drills and activities, while learning about the different Division I sports from Titan student-athletes. All participants are asked to bring gym clothes and shoes.
Lunch following the camp is provided, while campers will also receive a free t-shirt, gift bag and admission into the women's basketball game at 1 p.m. Registration may be done before the event or the day of at the door.
