DETROIT (1/9/2018) -- The University of Detroit Mercy men's basketball team's four-game homestand continues with a pair of contests against Ohio schools starting with the Cleveland State Vikings on Wednesday, Jan. 10.
Opening tip is set for 7 p.m. inside historic Calihan Hall and will be broadcast live on ESPN3 and televised locally on WADL-38 with
Dan Dickerson and Earl Cureton on the call as well as on 910 AM Superstation with
Cliff Russell providing the play by play.

ALL-TIME MATCH-UP
- The Titans won the first eight career meetings and three of the last five as they lead the all-time series, 40-23.
- Detroit Mercy is also 25-4 all-time at home in the series, winning two of the last three inside historic Calihan Hall.

CALIHAN HALL TURNS 65
- The 2017-18 season marks the 65th anniversary of historic Calihan Hall.
- The dedication of the University's Memorial Building, as it was known back then, took place May 25, 1952. The first basketball game was played Dec. 2 of that year when the U-D men beat Kalamazoo, 75-61.
- In 1977, the name was changed to Calihan Hall in honor of the Titans' first basketball All-American, the late Bob Calihan.
- On Dec. 5, 2011, the floor of Calihan Hall was dedicated to former coach Dick Vitale.

- Last season, 29,240 fans were in attendance, which ranked 12th out of 32 DI conferences.
TOUGH NON-CONFERENCE SLATE
- The 13 opponents on the Titan non-conference schedule combined to go 257-205 (55.6%) last season, and the 11 DI foes are 116-70 (62.3%) already on the year.
- That number has the Titan non-conference schedule ranked 45th overall in the nation.
TAKING ADVANTAGE
- Despite its 15-of-25 effort against Wright State on Friday, Detroit Mercy has done a great job at the free throw line connecting on 74.8 percent, third in the HL and 49th in the country.
- Detroit Mercy has hit 80.0 percent or more at the line in seven games, including some great performances in 18-of-22 at Virginia Tech, 20-of-23 versus Seattle, 13-of-15 in the road win at Saint Louis, 12-of-14 versus Toledo and 17-of-20 against Western Michigan.
- Some of the top free throw shooters include Jermaine Jackson Jr. (92.7%, 38-of-41), Kameron Chatman (86.7%, 52-of-60), Josh McFolley (81.0%, 47-of-58) and Corey Allen (80.4%, 45-of-56).
- In fact, Jackson Jr. tops the HL at the charity stripe and would be top 15 in the nation, but does not have enough makes to qualify.
- He had a streak of 17 made in a row before missing one against ETSU and had another streak of 11 in a row before missing one against Wright State.
HIGH POWERED OFFENSE
- The Titans currently rank first in the Horizon League and 48th in the nation in scoring offense at 81.5 points per game.
- Detroit Mercy has scored at least 71 points in 14 games, including three 100+point efforts.
CLEANING THE GLASS
- Detroit Mercy outrebounded its opponent for the third-straight game tallying a 48-37 margin against NKU.
- The 48 rebounds were also the second most on the season behind only the 49 versus HBU.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE
- The Titans had two players record double-doubles against Wright State, the first time that has happened since last season against Milwaukee.
- Redshirt junior Kameron Chatman posted 13 points and 12 rebounds and junior Tariiq Jones had 15 points and 10 boards.
ONE STRONG CHATMAN
- Redshirt junior Kameron Chatman - who missed last game with an injury - has been one of the most productive transfers in the NCAA.
- On the year, he has started all 16 games he has played in and had netted seven 20-point games and six double-doubles.
- Chatman leads the team and is:
- * 4th in the HL in scoring at 18.0 ppg.
- * 1st in the HL in rebounding at 8.8 rpg.
- * 1st in the HL in 3-point shooting at 46.2%
- * 11th in the HL in overall shooting at 48.3%
- He started conference play with two-straight 20-point games netting 22 at Green Bay - along with 11 rebounds and a career-high five assists - and 20 at Milwaukee, while adding another double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds against Wright State.
- His seven 20-point games on the year are third in the HL - behind Oakland's Kendrick Nunn's nine - while his six double-doubles are also tied for second in the conference.
JJJ FILLING UP THE STAT SHEET
- Rookie Jermaine Jackson Jr. posted stats all around as a true freshman on the road in his collegiate debut at Virginia Tech tallying 16 points with seven rebounds and three assists.
- The seven rebounds tied for the team lead, while his six defensive caroms led the team.
- He tallied a season-high 25 points at Green Bay - where he was 8-of-14 from the field with a season-high seven 3-pointers - and with his points against Wright State, he has now scored in double digits in 11 games on the season
- Jackson Jr. is currently third on the team averaging 11.6 points to go with a team-best 3.5 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.4 steals.
- He also has 59 assists and just 37 turnovers for a 1.6 ratio, tied for sixth in the HL.
- Jackson Jr. leads all league rookies in scoring, assists and made 3-pointers and is tied for first in steals.
I SEE YOU CA
- Sophomore Corey Allen has been in double figures in 13 of his 16 games with three 20+ contests and a pair of 30+ games.
- He has also set a career high in rebounds with eight at Green Bay and tied his career best with five assists in a game this year.
- On the season, he is second on the team in scoring at 15.3 points per game - seventh in the HL - and ranks second on the team and 11th in the league in three-point shooting (36.5%) as well as third on the team in overall shooting (45.9%).
COREY SEEING DOUBLE
- Sophomore Corey Allen recorded his first career double-double with 10 points and a career-best 13 rebounds against NKU.
WAY TO REEK
- Junior Tariiq Jones missed seven games with an ankle injury, but has come back strong in the last five averaging 9.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and shooting 48.8 percent (20-of-34).
- He had a big day posting his first career double-double with a career-best 15 points and 10 rebounds against Wright State.
- He had seven points and three rebounds against Murray State, 13 points and five boards at Green Bay and 12 points with five rebounds at Milwaukee.
- He started the year with nine points at Virginia Tech and 11 had versus UM-Dearborn before suffering his ankle injury in practice.
KAM'S THE MAN
- The Titans needed everyone's help to get the overtime victory over Houston Baptist on Nov. 19 and redshirt junior Kameron Chatman did his part posting his first career double-double with 22 points and a career-high 16 rebounds.
- At Saint Louis on Nov. 22, he posted 18 points and nine rebounds, but his biggest play was the game-winning shot with one second left.
- He tallied a career-high 31 points with 10 rebounds and three steals at Fort Wayne on Nov. 28, going a career-best 11-of-15 from the field and 5-of-6 from behind the arc.
OUR ROYAL PRINCE
- Graduate senior Roschon Prince is starting to find his rhythm at Detroit Mercy as he was in double figures in scoring with 10 points - hitting all five of his shots - against Wright State an then almost had his second double-double of the year with nine points and 10 boards versus NKU.
- Before that, he posted his seventh career double-double with a season-high 11 points and 10 rebounds at Milwaukee.
- On the season, he is averaging 6.3 points and 4.0 rebounds, while shooting 58.3 percent from the field, including 13 for his last 18 (72.2%) in the last three games.
REACHING 100
- The Titans reached the 100-point mark for the third time this season with a 131-69 victory over Siena Heights on Nov. 25.
- The Titans also reached 100 in a 116-109 victory over Houston Baptist in overtime and a 105-82 win over UM-Dearborn.
- The 131 points are the fourth most in school history and the most since tallying a school record 135 against CCNY in 1979.
- The 116 points against HBU at the 2K Sports Classic Belmont Subregional broke Belmont's Curb Event Center record for most points.
- Detroit Mercy has now reached 100 points 94 times in its history and the three times in a season is the most since hitting 100 on three occasions during the 1979-80 campaign.
A LONG DAY
- Sophomore Cole Long made his first start of the season against ETSU and he made the most of it scoring a career-high 10 points and handing out a career-best four assists.
- He also grabbed three rebounds in 27 minutes of action.
PICKING YOUR POCKET
- Junior Josh McFolley is tied for sixth in the Horizon League with 1.43 steals per game.
- He has three games on the year with at least three steals, including tying his career high with five against Siena Heights.
- In his career, he has recorded a steal in 59 of his 77 career games, including 24 multi-steal contests and 13 with at least three takeaways.
- McFolley led the conference in steals per game (2.00) and total steals (62), ranking 26th and 35th in the NCAA, respectively, last season.
- His 121 career steals has him approaching top 10 status in school history.
