EDISON, N.J. (3/12/2018) -- University of Detroit Mercy goalie Logan Shamblin (Washington Twp., Mich. / Troy) has earned his second-straight Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) weekly honor, receiving MAAC men's lacrosse Rookie of the Week accolades from the league office Monday afternoon.

Shamblin made 11 saves in Sunday's 9-7 setback to Air Force for his fifth 10-save contest of the 2018 season. It was his third-straight game making 11 or more saves this season as Detroit Mercy has allowed nine or fewer goals in three-straight contests.

He turned away eight shots in the opening 30 minutes of the contest. Shamblin added three ground balls during the game for the Titans and had no turnovers. 

The redshirt freshman goalie has started all seven games this season in-between the pipes for the Titans and has a 52.8 save percentage with a 9.62 goals against average. He has totaled 75 saves this year, making 10.7 saves per game. He has played all but 2:45 minutes in net this season, ranking second in the MAAC in minutes played this season (418).

Shamblin also ranks second in the MAAC in total saves with 75 and third in the league in goals against average.

Detroit Mercy (2-5) is back in action this weekend, playing host to rival Marist in its MAAC opener on Saturday, March 17 at Noon. It's the lone doubleheader
