Biography

Career: Finished his career with 44 singles wins (third in school history) and 48 doubles wins (most in school history).

2012-13: Named Academic All-Horizon… Finished the year with an 8-16 record in singles, with three wins at first singles, one at second singles and four at third singles… Earned a 10-11 (2-4 HL) mark at first doubles… He earned a doubles victory at Toledo (1/20)… Took both first singles and doubles against Grand Valley State (2/1)… Followed that with two wins against Wayne State (2/2)… Took a doubles match against Duquesne (3/1)… Won two matches against Bentley (3/10)… Earned his first conference win at first doubles against UIC (4/6) and then took a doubles match against Valpo the next day (4/7)…  Won his match at third singles against Northern Illinois (4/12) that started a three-match streak… Earned a pair of wins against both IPUI (4/13) and IPFW (4/14)… Took both his matches in the first round of the Horizon League Championships against Youngstown State (4/26)… Named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.
 
2011-12: Recorded 10 wins in singles play and 11 in doubles play... Won three strainght in the back draw at the ITA Regional tournament (10/13-15)...  Earned a win at #1 singles agianst IPFW (1/22) and against Wayne State (2/2)...  Defeated Western Kentucky (6-3, 7-6 (7-4)) at #2 singles (MAr, 4)... Earnd an HL victory against Youngstown in a tie-break (6-1, 3-6, 6-7, (3-7))... Defeated Chicago Staet (7-6, 6-1) (Apr. 13) and ended the year with a 6-4, 62 win over Cleveland State (4/27) at #2 singles... Named to UDM Athletic Director's Honor Roll... Named to 2012 Horizon League Spring Academic Honor Roll.

2010-11: Named the Horizon League Men's Tennis Player of the Week on Feb. 1 after a pair of wins over Dayton taking an 8-5 win at No. 2 doubles and then a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles... Played all of his singles matches in the No. 1 or 2 position this year capturing a team-best three victories in the No. 1 spot and three more at No. 2. Two of the wins at No. 1 came in league play taking down Jose Gaspar of Valparaiso (Mar. 26) and Erik Finkenbrink of Green Bay (Apr. 9). His other win in the top spot came over Duquesne (Apr. 3)... Finished with the second most Horizon League singles wins on the team with three and the second most doubles victories on the squad... Paired up with fellow sophomore Pablo Nunez and started the dual season in the No. 3 spot playing there twice while the next seven dual matches the duo was at No. 2 while the final eight contests of the year were played at No. 1... His 27 career doubles win place him second all-time behind Pjotrs Necajevs... Earned second team All-Conference honors... Earned the team's Most Valuable Player award as recognized by the coaches... Member of the Horizon League's 2010 Fall and 2011 Spring Academic Honor Roll... Named to the 2010 UDM Athletic Director's Honor Roll.

2009-10: Made an immediate impact compiling 12 singles wins, third on the team, and 28 total wins, second on the Titans…Was in the line-up mostly at the No. 2 and 3 position…Really got recognition at the ITA Midwest Regionals advancing all the way to the quarterfinals in doubles playing with senior Pjotrs Necajevs… The Titan tandem defeated the 12th-seeded Wisconsin team of Michael Dieberger and Patrick Pohlmann, 8-5, as well as John Haley and Robert Fox of Cleveland State, 9-8 (2)…They then gave the second seeded, and 26th-ranked, Buckeye team of Chase Buchanan and Justin Kronauge a scare before falling, 8-6…He also logged a tough three-set loss in the opening match of the singles qualifying round…Started the year with three victories and a flight title at the IPFW Fall Invite, including a 6-1, 6-1 win over DePauw’s Jonathan Batuello for his first collegiate tally in his first collegiate match…Started the dual season with a thrilling 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-7) victory over Western Michigan’s Casey Cullen…His first Horizon League win was over Valparaiso’s Adam Whitmer 6-4, 2-6, 10-2…A member of the UDM’s AD’s Honor Roll.

Prior to Detroit: A top 10-ranked player in Ontario as well as a member of his provincial team at the Canadian National Championships...In his final season, he was ranked 37th nationally in U-18 singles...He won the 2008 Southwest Ontario high school championship, and finished fourth at the provincial level one year earlier...He was the U-18 champion of the 2008 Dr. Joe Morris Memorial Classic while also ringing up a number of big wins on the ITA Summer Circuit…Named player of the year in his high school in 2005.

Personal: Son of Betty and Rob Latosinsky... His hobbies include playing piano, ultimate Frisbee, skiing, going to the beach and listening to music …Has a sister Michelle (23) and Christopher (6)…Chose Detroit because of its location to home and academics and coaches…A bio-chemistry major.
