Mike Miller, a 1995 graduate of Ball State with a degree in athletic training, was named the Director of Sports Medicine/Head Athletic Trainer in August of 2006. He was promoted to Assistant AD for Sports Medicine in June, 2010, and then to Associate Athletic Director in the summer of 2015. 

With the Titans, Miller is responsible for all aspects of the Sports Medicine department and student-athlete policies. He is also the sports supervisor for women's soccer and men's lacrosse and served as the head athletic trainer for men's basketball from 2007-2015. 

In the summer of 2015, Miller was inducted into the Ball State Ring of Honor for athletic training at a ceremony at the National Athletic Trainers Association's (NATA) annual conference in St Louis, Missouri. 

Prior to coming to Detroit, Miller was an associate athletic trainer for eight seasons at Notre Dame where he worked primarily with women's basketball, cross country and football.

Before his stint in South Bend, Miller was a graduate assistant trainer at Eastern Michigan, where he worked with the football team and coordinated athletic rehabilitation, while completing his master's degree in exercise physiology.

While at Ball State, he worked with the men's volleyball, women's track and field, football and baseball teams. In 1995, Miller helped the home event coverage for the Richmond (Ind.) Roosters minor league baseball team. He served an internship in 1994 with the NFL's New England Patriots, and later did a clinical rotation with Muncie Central High School and Central Indiana Sports Medicine.

Miller graduated from Ball State with a degree in Athletic Training and received his master's in Exercise Physiology from Eastern Michigan in 1998.

A native of LaGrange, Indiana, Miller and his wife Michelle have three sons: Spencer, Conner and Parker.
