NFCA "girls got game" All-Academic Teams list
In a ranking of NCAA Division I softball teams by combined grade point average, the University of Detroit Mercy was ranked 17th by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association with a team GPA of 3.383 for the 2008-09 academic year.
The all-academic teams, part of the NFCA’s “girls got game” program, aims to recognize teams for their success in the classroom and honors teams from NCAA Divisions I-III, NAIA, Junior College and high school weighted and non-weighted.
In the spring, current juniors
Breana Sesoko (Anaheim Hills, CA/Canyon) and
Ellen Sinclair (Chatham, ON/Chatham-Kent) were named to the Horizon League’s Academic All-League Team, and eight Titans were selected to the HL Academic Honor Roll.
