Video Of The Team At Echo Grove Park

DETROIT (10/11/12) -- The regular season is still a few weeks away, but for the Detroit women's basketball team, this week will probably be one of the busiest of the year.

It all started last Friday as head coach Autumn Rademacher participated in the University of Indianapolis' coaches' clinic at Nicoson Hall at UIndy.

The next day, Coach Rademacher hustled back to town and the team made its way to Echo Grove Camp in Leonard, Mich., for a retreat and a team bonding event. The Titans took part in a variety of team exercises and then had some fun trying to conquer wall climbing.

“When I climbed that wall and finally got on top with my teammates helping me, I was like wow,” said sophomore Brie Wilcox. “It was a lot of fun and definitely brought us together. The whole experience helped us learn that we have to trust each other and that will help us on the court during the season.”

Just a few days later Coach Rademacher and sophomore Shareta Brown were in Chicago for Horizon League Women's Basketball Media Day. Both of the Titans were involved in a number of video interviews with media and HLN and then took time to have some fun and do some PSA's for the upcoming season.

While all that was going on, Detroit has still hit the courts hard for practice this week as the red, white and blue continue to build for the regular season, but a few more events are on the horizon.

“Practice has been great,” added Wilcox. “We are focusing a lot on our conditioning and just getting better overall.”

Detroit went through a media work session on Thursday and that will be followed by Titan media day on Friday along with team picture day and the long-awaited Titan Tip-Off.
