DETROIT (4/10/2016) -- The University of Detroit Mercy women's basketball team celebrated the 2015-16 season on Saturday afternoon, as more than 75 people were on hand for the annual season-end banquet at Pasquales in Royal Oak.

Denny Kapp served as the emcee for the event as the Detroit women's basketball family, fans and friends gathered to honor the team's 2015-16 achievements. The Titans finished their first season under head coach
Bernard Scott with a fourth-place finish in the Horizon League, highlighed by an 11-7 mark in conference play. Coach Scott presented several awards at the banquet.
Junior
Haleigh Ristovski (Sterling Heights, Mich. / University Liggett) was named Team MVP as well as earning the team's Academic Award. The junior forward maintains a 3.99 GPA in Accounting and has been named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll at Detroit in every semester eligible.
On the court, Ristovski started all 30 games and led the Titans in rebounding (9.1 per game), blocks (31), minutes played (1,069) and double-doubles (seven). She was second on the squad in assists (93), steals (31) and 3-pointers (43), while setting a new-school record with 247 defensive rebounds in 2015-16. She ranked ninth in the NCAA in defensive rebounding.
Junior
Rosanna Reynolds (Canton, Mich. / Divine Child) received the team's Coaches Award. The First Team All-Horizon League honoree ranked second on the Titans with 468 points, averaging 15.6 points per game. Reynolds started all 30 games and led the team with 149 total assists and 40 steals. Her 87.2 free throw percentage is second all-time in single-season history. She became the 20th player in Detroit history to surpass 1,000 career points while setting a new school record with 15 assists in one game.
Sophomore forward
Brianne Cohen (Toronto, Ont. / York Memorial) was the recipient of the Sixth Player of the Year Award. Cohen, who received the Horizon League's Sixth Player of the Year award, came off the bench in all but two games and led the Titans in scoring with 469 points, averaging 15.6 points per game. Cohen had the largest leap in scoring from one year to the next in school history. Cohen was 12th in the country in field goal percentage at 57.3 and led Detroit in offensive rebounds (84) and free throws made (118).
Sophomore guard
Nicole Urbanick (Grosse Ile, Mich. / Divine Child) earned the Best Defensive Player Award. Urbanick started every game for the Titans in 2015-16, ranking third on the team in steals. She was third on the team in scoring (14.1 points per game) and led the Horizon League with 2.77 triples made per game. Her 83 3-pointers made during the year ranks third all-time on the single-season list.
Sophomore
Chea Taylor (Bellbrook, Ohio) earned the squad's Most Improved accolade. The forward started in 28 contests, including all 18 Horizon League contests, ranking fourth on the team in rebounding at 3.1 boards per game.
The team's Toughness Award went to
Iycelin Craigmiles, the squad's youngest member and one that has served as an inspiration to the team all season. Iycelin, 9, was a fixture at Detroit games throughout the season and made a road trip to watch Detroit defeat Metro Series rival Oakland on Feb. 27. Iycelin was signed by Detroit on Nov. 27 through Team IMPACT and her smile was seen on the sidelines all season at Calihan Hall.
