ROCHESTER, Mich. (4/18/16) – Junior Alexis-Robison Kohrs threw a complete game and the offense picked up some timely hits as the University of Detroit Mercy softball team kicked off the Metro Series opener at Oakland with a big 3-2 win over the Golden Grizzlies from the Oakland Softball Field on a warm Monday afternoon.
The Titans struck first on a RBI triple from

After a scoreless fourth inning, Detroit took the lead for good with two runs in the top of the fifth. With runners on first and second, junior

The Titans weren't out of the woods yet, however, as the Golden Grizzlies' comeback efforts went into overdrive. Robison-Kohrs and the Detroit defense were up to the task, making plays all over the diamond to escape with the hard fought road win.
Protecting the 3-2 lead, the Titans turned a double play with a pair of runners on to end the fifth.
With runners on second and third in the bottom of the sixth, Robison-Kohrs snared a line drive back up the middle to send the Titans into the seventh with a lead.
