Scoring System
  • Each of the 13 sports (excluding softball) that Detroit Mercy and Oakland compete in head-to-head will be worth two points for each contest or championship. Ties will result in one point each.
  • Points will be awarded during regular-season play only in head-to-head meetings.
  • For softball, two points will be awarded to the winner of the season series. If the teams only play twice, points can be split, while if the teams met just once in the regular season, the winner of the one game would receive the two points (best of 3)
  • For men's and women's cross country, men's and women's golf, men's and women's indoor/outdoor track and field, two points will be awarded to the team that finishes higher at the Horizon League Championships.
  • In an event of a tie, the team that won the rivalry the year before will retain possession of the trophy.
