Detroit Mercy Titans Hall of Fame
Greiner was a three-year regular at left guard who was known as one of the Midwest’s best at his position. He first wore the Red & White in 1942 and then returned to school after three years in the Army Air Corps. He was a co-captain of the 1947 team and a key blocker for the rushing game that led the nation that year. He finished third in balloting conducted by the “Varsity News” for U of D’s 1947 Athlete of the Year. He served as the Titans’ defensive signal caller as a senior.
