Watrous holds the second best stroke average in U-D history at 74.01 per round on 4,109 strokes over 55 rounds. He was a member of the 1955 team that finished 22nd in the country. He went undefeated during regular season play in 1956 and was a three-year qualifier for the NCAA Tournament, where he finished in the top 32 all three years. A captain of the golf team, he went on to be an excellent pro.
