Clark was the number one singles player all three years he competed. He reached the semi-finals of the Missouri Valley Conference each year and the finals once. Prior to his freshman season, he was a member of the Junior Davis Cup team and was ranked #9 in Southeastern Michigan in his prime. In 1956 he qualified for the NCAA Tournament. He is the son of Earl "Dutch" Clark who is also in the Titan Hall of Fame as a football coach.
