University of Detroit Mercy Athletics

Kirwan was named All-Catholic and All-American as both a junior and a senior. He was the captain of the 1949-50 squad and led U-D to its first 20-win season in 1949-50. He is one of seven players to end his career as the all-time leading scorer at U-D.
